The Kentucky Highland Renaissance Festival announced two new shows for their 2008 season. The Dark Knights Joust and Fratelli, both productions of Cavallo Equestrian Arts of Davenport, Florida, have videos on the Festival’s home page. Check them out, looks like a couple of great shows!
The Food Network’s “Dinner Impossible – Medieval Mayhem” aired as scheduled and, though there was a technical gaff in the production, was received with rave reviews. Those who were served the meal had high praise for the food. The recipes used are posted at the Food Network and, based on a review at the Maryland Friends of Faire forum, the ones tried so far are “fantastic. Super easy and fast.”

Hoggetowne Medieval Faire, Gainesville, Florida, held a successful second and final weekend. Kids’ Day on Friday was well attended in spite of a rainy start. The weather cleared, as promised, around noon and the rest of the weekend was beautiful, though warmer than expected by some. We attended shows, picked up merchandise ordered last week, shopped, attended more shows *chuckling* Leinad filled up a 1G camera card on Saturday taking various pictures for Faire News, including many of Emrys Fleet’s Rat Pucking Tournament.
Two Rivers Renaissance Faire held in Yuma, Arizona, this past weekend received good reviews and it sounds like they had a great turnout. Pictures posted by the Yuma Sun in their SmugMug gallery show the faire off to a good start and their article indicated that Friday’s attendance had doubled from last year. Marc Gunn of the Brobdingnagian Bards commented in his blog that the portable stages at this faire were brilliant, built structurally sound and still portable.
