It’s opening weekend at the Des Moines Renaissance Faire in … Des Moines, of course *chuckling* where else would it be? Discount tickets are available from local Hy-Vee stores and buying them in advance means you can walk right in the gate when you get there. Huzzah for not having to stand in line to buy tickets!
If you’ve considered a leather mug, be sure to stop by visiting merchants Boars Head Leather. To celebrate being at the Faire, they’ve made something unique just for Des Moines fans. Check out the limited edition Faire Logo Mug. Other patterns are available on the mugs as well as on cups and goblets.

Also new this year will be some kind of pewter medallions — first year with anything like that available to the public (there were laser engraved wooden buttons and such for some cast members the first and maybe second year, but I never had one myself).

Welcome to FaireNews, Allen. I saw the picture of the medallions, they are cool too! They remind me of one we got a couple of years ago at a different faire as our Season Pass.
