Folsom Renaissance Faire – Faire Fun for October 16-22, 2008

California

The Folsom Renaissance Faire brings to life Elizabethan times at Folsom City Lions Park this weekend as they introduce you to Shakespeare’s Muse. The Park is, as I write this, being turned into an Elizabethan town all decked out in preparation for Queen Elizabeth to arrive at any moment. Come the morning, a myriad of characters will act out a series of vignettes resembling those of Shakespeare’s most beloved plays. More than 900 costumed entertainers and hundreds of shopkeepers and artisans will add to the ambience of the Faire.

Advance tickets are still available via TicketWeb, but you’ll have to pick them up at the WillCall window. Seniors get discount tickets for the same price as the children. Students with a verifiable school assignment can get ticket discounts too.

Faire promoters want you to know:

You’ll meet the likes of royals and rebels, pirates and peasants, ministers and merchants! Entertainment abounds, courtesy of nationally touring stage acts, musicians, singers, and more. Savory food and drink (including hard spirits for adults and homemade root beer for youngsters) will satisfy your hunger and thirst. Quaint shoppes will provide a bevy of handmade goods to purchase—from jewelry, pottery, clothing, and furniture to swords, toys, and even geodes and lingerie. There is something for everyone at this year’s 2008 Folsom Renaissance Faire!

This Faire is a fundraiser with benefits going to the Folsom CAVE Teen Centers, the Friends of the Folsom Public Library, and the Folsom Rotary Club.

Skip Matthews shared his pictures of Folsom Renaissance Faire via a Kodak Gallery and I thought you all might like to see them.
