I first heard about Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire’s Conservatory Company when I interviewed Tom Zadoyko last February for his article in the “Have You Met?” series. Tom got his start on the RenFaire performer’s circuit as part of the company.

Last week, I got a notice that it’s time for PaRF’s Bacchanalian and Blackfryar Auditions for the 2009 season. The Bacchanalian Company is reserved for full-time professional actors while the Blackfryar Company is for part-timers, volunteers, etc. And this year they’re starting a new company, the Goldfryars, for the strolling and/or mobile vendors who are also in full character.

All the auditions take place at the Mount Hope Mansion on the festival grounds. The Bacchanalia auditions are scheduled for January 24 & 25 and the Blackfryars will audition on February 21 & 22.
