Porter and Stout had an outstanding turnout Thursday, Feb 28th, at the Claddagh Irish Pub for the recording of their new Live CD. Both musicians commented on how much they appreciated their fans.
Those who were able to attend Owain Phyfe’s appearance at Down Under Wines on the 28th say that it was nice and Owain was great as usual. I hope that Owain will be at a faire that the FaireNews.com crew gets to this year. I’ve never heard him live.
Bristol Renaissance Festival and Southern Connecticut Renaissance Festival both held auditions this past weekend. Keep a good thought for all those who tried out.
All five open Faires (three in Florida, one in Texas, and one in Arizona) had good weather Saturday and Sunday, though some commented that Sunday was chilly for those attending the Arizona Renaissance Festival.
No one posted current pictures or video of the band, “Three Guys and a Bunch of Drums” currently playing at the Arizona Renaissance Festival, that I was interested in. However, YouTube member Dezertsky did post video of Tartanic in action. Thank you, Dezertsky, for sharing.
The Bay Area Renaissance Festival’s Longbow Competition had a goodly turnout if Father Simon’s pictures are any indication. Some of the ladies of Court tried their hand, including Queen Katherine Parr (portrayed by Caroline Jett, photographed by Father Simon).
The FaireNews crew staged a major garb-planning event with several friends in preparation for the next three weeks attendance. We combined different items to see what worked, what to shop for, and what to re-home. All had a good time.
