The British Columbia Renaissance Festival is in a bit of a bind. They’re mid-way through rehearsals and have lost a cast member to medical problems. They’ve put a call out for someone who respects weapons and is comfortable around animals. And they need to audition and cast the new actor as soon as possible. From their MySpace bulletin:
Need replacement actor now
Production Dates: July 17, 18 and 19th
Dress Rehearsal and Media Day: July 16th
Rehearsals: All day on Sundays.
Auditions: As soon as we can meet up. Please include you phone contact so I may be able to quickly plan a time with you. Send photo and resume or introduction letter to: email@example.com
Note: MUST respect weapons (as you will be around them and your fellow actors) and not be afraid of animals (we are operating from a farm as well as having jousters with their horses).
We have lost our present actor to personal medical related issues.
Quartermaster Firth: English Old Sea Dog. Ex Naval Captain of The Sussex Rose. Now Pirate. Reliable. Sarcastic. Seasoned sailor. Guilt ridden enough to almost deceive Charity. Sways between dedication to crew, mission and self. Similar feel to Fisk from BCRF year one. Check out some of our first year storyline scene videos on our myspace videos. http://www.myspace.com/bcrenfest Sort of Barbossa/Gibbs (Pirates of the Caribbean) like. Rough. Knocked about.
Ensemble rehearsals are on SUNDAYS ONLY. MUST show for all day (from noon onwards) rehearsals in Burnaby (by Gilmore Skytrain station) on Sundays. Additional day exceptions may be the fighters depending on what is required to get them ‘polished’ in time for promos/renfest itself. Parade opportunities are encouraged. Dress rehearsal is on July 16th.
MUST be ‘clean’ (No alcohol or drugs) when at rehearsals, promos, handling weapons and on site behind the scenes or at the festival itself. Storyline Characters are scripted mixed with improv.
