NorCal RenFest Renaissance Institute Cooking Class
California
If you’re going to the Northern California Renaissance Faire for closing weekend and have an interest in historical cooking, check to see if there’s still space available in Celtic Hearth’s cooking class. It’s scheduled for Sunday Oct 17th from 9 am until 11:30 am at Casa de Fruta.
Barb Aiello, the instructor, described it this way:
This is a hands-on cooking class with additional demonstrations, exhibits and presentations. Students will learn how to make German rock sugar, prepare authentic Medieval mustard and blend aromatic spices of the Renaissance. The workshop will also cover Elizabethan food customs & dining etiquette, examine period reproduction kitchenware & accessories, and explore the many spices of the period, as well as offer tips on redacting Medieval menus using modern day resources. At the end we’ll sample some of our creations and sip warm mulled apple cider through Q & A time.
The workshop is open to public patrons and faire participants. Space is limited, and there is a class fee. For more information about this workshop please contact Barb at celtichearth01 at aol.com.
Have a great closing weekend and one of these days … we’ll see you at Faire!!
