The "Have You Met?" series introduces you to some of the people who make Faire a joy!

Looking forward to March 28 – April 3, 2008

There are lots of things happening this weekend. You’ll see many a first greeting or parting hug as performers audition for upcoming casts and Faires open or close the gates for the season.

Auditions:

The Shakespeare and Friends Renaissance Faire auditions occur on Friday, March 28, 2008 at 6:00pm on the Eastern Tennessee State University (ETSU) campus in Johnson City, Tennessee and Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 6:00pm in Rogersville, Tennessee. Thanks to Tribe.net for providing audition details regarding appointments and characters needed.

The Great Lakes Medieval Faire holds their second round of auditions each day this weekend from 10am to 3pm at the Festival Office in Rock Creek, Ohio.

Open Shows:

1st Annual Spring Fairy Festival is this Saturday (March 29) in Tacoma, Washington from noon til 10pm. It looks to be a great show with several well-known fairy artists appearing.

The first festival of the California season takes place this weekend in Palm Springs. The Crossroads Palm Springs Renaissance Festival is open from 11am until 9pm on Friday and Saturday (March 28 & 29) and 11am to 6pm on Sunday (March 30). Check their website for access to a Discount Coupon.

The Arizona Renaissance Festival will end with a Final Huzzah!!  Saturday you’ll have the opportunity to make the Queen laugh at the Royal Fool Contest sponsored by JesterZ Improv. Sunday is your final chance to enjoy the Festival’s 20th season.

The Bay Area Renaissance Festival will celebrate the Italian Carnivale this weekend. Cast and visitor alike are encouraged to don masks and get in to the spirit of Carnivale. The Faire News crew plans to be on site Sunday.

The Four Winds Renaissance Festival will hold a Masque Ball and Fool Fest. Don your best garb and mask Saturday evening and dance the night away from 9pm til midnight. 

The North Carolina Renaissance Festival opens this weekend in Cary, North Carolina, for the first of three weekends. The Faire has teamed up with Lowe’s Foods to offer a discounted ticket for Sunday’s admission. The DaVinci Brothers Comedy Opera is appearing, so stop by and let Bob know that you saw his “Have you met?” article here at FaireNews.
