Renaissance Faire News - Sharing the Joy of Faire, one post at a time at FaireNews.com!!

The "Have You Met?" series introduces you to some of the people who make Faire a joy!

March is over, let me tell you how it went

March has ended and I thought I’d provide another update for those of you who are enjoying Faire News. The number of unique readers grew again this month and we had almost 50 visitors per day. Thanks to those of you who are helping to spread the word. I was surprised to find that Tuesday is the day and 9am the time most popular with readers. While most of our readers are from the USA, we had visitors from at least 18 other countries.

I made a few changes to the site this past month, things that hopefully make it more unique and enjoyable. What do you think about the new favicon (favorite icon), is it recognizable? You may notice that the category pages now only display an excerpt of the post. Just click the title and it will take you to the complete post. Hopefully it will make it a little easier for you to find the post you’re looking for.

The most popular posts from January and February were “Have you met Marc Gunn?” and “Have you met the Sidesaddle Encampment with Dark Horse Aside?” The “Have you met?” series got three new posts in March:

Have you met Tom “Red” Zadoyko?
Have you met the St Molden’s Invaders?
Have you met Lynda Kavy?

Sometimes the Google searches that lead to Faire News really tickle me. Who would have thought that a search for “Styrofoam potato” would bring someone to FaireNews? However, if you remember reading Bob DaVinci’s article, he uses one as a prop in “Makin-a-Meatballs” comedy opera. This week it was “Charlevoix turkey breed.” It’s a pretty sure bet they weren’t looking for an article on falconry, but I hope they enjoyed the article on Kitty Carroll and Accipiter Enterprises.

Now it’s your turn. Would you share what you like or dislike about FaireNews? What would you like to see more of? Are the audition announcements helpful, do they give you enough time to plan? Is there someone you’d like to see interviewed? A friend once compared spending time with me to that spent with a three-year-old; every answer brings a new question. Here’s your chance to help me learn and make FaireNews more enjoyable. What would you like to read? I may not be able to implement all the changes you suggest but I will consider them. Don’t expect answers before Wednesday, though, cause … I’m at Faire!!!
