Renaissance Faire News - Sharing the Joy of Faire, one post at a time at FaireNews.com!!

The "Have You Met?" series introduces you to some of the people who make Faire a joy!

Looking back at March 31 – April 6, 2008

The Bay Area Renaissance Festival season ended with a torrential downpour, reminiscent of opening weekend. We attended with mixed feelings, delighted to be back in the shire but saddened to know that it was the last time we would see many of our friends until next year. In spite of the weather, we had a great time, with Empty Hats, the New Minstrel Revue, and Queen Katherine Parr’s Men in Tights contest being special favorites of mine. Congratulations to the following cast and performers:

Entertainer of the Year – Kevin Pearl – Crispin Wylde
Rookie of the Year – Dave Waterman – Gravedigger Doug
Ensemble of the Year – Acrobelum
Spirit of the Faire – Glenda Horne – Nym
Best Stage Act of the Year – Washing Well Wenches
Best Musical Act of the Year – Odon Soterias

Until next year’s opening cannon, may Fittleworth and its residents stay safe and sound, the lingering strains of music heard if we listen closely enough.

The rain again fell at the North Carolina Renaissance Faire, keeping crowds down and those that attended in the pubs. The rest of the faires appear to have had great weather and good crowds.

    Hello,
I seek some info about the lady who plays “Nym”, Glenda Horne. I have many photos of BARF from 2009 and a nice shot of her. http://www.tampapix.com/BARF4.htm#Nym

Would like to add some background on Glenda to the caption. Do you have contact information?

Hi, Dan, welcome to FaireNews. I don’t have contact information for Glenda though I know several people who do. I’ll put the word out and see what I can come up with.
