Great Lakes Medieval Faire – Faire Fun for August 7-13, 2008

It’s the final weekend of the Great Lakes Medieval Faire and Marketplace and they’re going out with a blast, a Barbarian Beer Blast that is! The NE Ohio Brewmaster Championship, Beer Tastings, and Home Brewing lessons are just a few of the beer centered items on the entertainment schedule.
Wonderfool will again bring his own brand of tomfoolery to the stage for your amusement and, this weekend only, Owain Phyfe will grace the shire with his outstanding voice.
It’ll be your last chance to take pictures elegible for the 2008 Photography, Illustration, and Logo Design Contest. Entries are due by September 30, 2008. Twelve winners will be chosen with first prize receiving $1000 and 2(two) 2009 season passes. See the Photo Contest Rules page for complete details about the competition.
Tickets can still be purchased online at a $2.00 discount but must be ordered by noon on Friday prior to attendance and picked up at the Will Call booth. If you’d rather avoid the line at the ticket booth, you can purchase tickets (no discount available) at a number of outlets near the faire.

Big thanks to everyone who helped out with and/or participated in the 2008 GLMF RESCU foundation rally on Wednesday at Richard’s Camp. The day was a huge success and a lot of fun was had by all. The event raised $2227, which is a new record for this faire. Cash donations for RESCU are still being accepted at the Uncommon Adornments Booth and at Enchanted Chains Jewelry if you weren’t able to make it out to the rally.
The RESCU Foundation is a non-profit organization established to promote and maintain the health and medical well-being of the participants of Renaissance Faires, historical performances and other artistic events through financial assistance, education, advocacy, and preventative programs.

CongaRats on a great rally! Folks, RESCU is a great organization and Melissa puts her whole heart in to the rallies. Attend when you can and support the organization any way you can find.
