Renaissance Faire News - Sharing the Joy of Faire, one post at a time at FaireNews.com!!

The "Have You Met?" series introduces you to some of the people who make Faire a joy!

Looking Forward to February 8-15, 2008

*chuckling* Didn’t get the post ready before it was time to head out, so I’m sitting in the Orlando Airport writing this update.

Feb 8-10 – Re-enactor Fest 4– Chicago, Illinois – This is an event for any serious re-enactor spanning from the days of the Roman Empire through WWII. It’s a good thing the whole thing is being held at the Sheraton in Arlington Heights, as the weather looks dismal. Be safe and stay warm those of you who are attending and … have a great time!

Feb 8-9 – WickedFaire, in their third season has expanded to a two day event and taken over the Holiday Inn in Edison, New Jersey. Jeff Mach, the show promoter, has had some real difficulty with the hotel owners but is confident that the event will be a success. Like Chicago, rain and possible snow is forecast. In spite of that, I’m looking forward to attending the all adult event.

Feb 9-10 – The Arizona Renaissance Festival opens this weekend in Apache Junction, east of Phoenix, celebrating their 20th year. The forecast calls for sunny skies and temperatures in the 70’s. It will be perfect weather for wandering the lanes in garb. They have several new shows on the schedule including a Pirate Joust and The Lost Boys.

Feb 9-10 – The Florida Renaissance Festival opens in Deerfield Beach, near Ft Lauderdale. Showers are forecast for Saturday, clearing on Sunday. In their 16th year, the storyline is a bit changed this year with a Spanish Court. Should be interesting to see how it goes.

Boarding call happened before I got the links and fonts adjusted, but it’s all updated now.
