Looks like the pirates will be running rampant all over the country with many faires holding Pirate themed weekends.
California
There was a great trip report posted over on Tribe.net for the Cain’s Crossing Renaissance Faire.
Koroneburg European Old World Festival continues this weekend. They’ve got a $3 discount coupon available.
This is the final weekend of the Renaissance Pleasure Faire of Southern California at the Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area in Irwindale. The Faire is still offering advance purchase discount tickets. Last chance for the Pleasure Faire, folks, go out while you can.
Georgia
Pirates will invade the Georgia Renaissance Festival this weekend with discount tickets available for printing at home.
Michigan
The gates of Marshallmoor swing wide Saturday as Mayfaire Renaissance Festival opens for five full days of fun (May 17-18 & May 24-26). There’s a discount ticket coupon for $1 off gate prices on the website.
Minnesota
Minnesota Renaissance Festival will hold auditions in St Paul this weekend for cast and an Open House in Shakopee for seasonal workers. See the website for more information.
Missouri
Greater St Louis Renaissance Festival opens this weekend, running through June 8. This faire is set in France, rather than England, during the early 1500’s. “Why France?” explains their reasoning for the location and period chosen. It sounds like a fun faire and I wish them a successful run. There’s a $2 discount ticket coupon available for printing at home.
Nebraska
Midwest Renaissance Festival (formerly the Renaissance Faire of the Midlands) opens Saturday and runs through Memorial Day. Music and jousting, merchants and courtly matters will fill the days. They’re running several ticket discount promotions including food for a discount, military discount, and a discount coupon.
New Jersey
The West Windor Lion’s Club holds their annual Renaissance Faire this weekend to raise fund for sight and hearing organizations. This family event will include fighting and jousting from medieval re-enactors.
Oklahoma

Tennessee
Covington Glen was cool and windy this past weekend and it looks like it’s more of the same for the upcoming Pirate Invasion at the Tennessee Renaissance Festival.
Texas
Scarborough Renaissance Festival had great weather for the Renaissance Romance weekend, welcome almost 20,000 visitors and helping more than 100 couples renew their vows. It’s Pirate weekend at Scarborough, so guard your jewels.
The Corsairs, currently appearing at Scarborough Renaissance Festival, have announced on their email list that Memorial Day will be their last show together. Humble William Teach said “The Corsairs have decided that 13 years is long enough for a 1-season bit to run. We are finally calling it a day. This weekend (May 17 & 18) will be our next-to-last weekend, and all our merchandise is sale-priced. You can find us at Scarborough Faire, on the Crown Stage at 10:30, Noon, 2:30, and 4:30. Next weekend (plus Memorial Day) will be our finale. There are only 20 Corsairs shows remaining. Ever.”
Utah
The 3rd annual Utah Renaissance Festival and Fantasy Faire continues this weekend in Marriott-Slaterville, Utah. There will be jousting, magic, belly dancers, Celtic music, puppets, and lots of other entertainment.
Vermont
Jericho, Vermont, will see the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church open their doors for the 18th annual Medieval Country Fair. The Society for Creative Anachronism will provide living history demonstrations. They’ve made homemade German food and will offer a make-it, bake-it, take-it home pretzel show for all ages. This is a free family-friendly event.
Virginia
Pirates will overrun the shire as the Virginia Renaissance Faire opens its gates. The Faire, held at Lake Anna Winery in Spotsylvania, near Fredericksburg, features Pyrates Royale for an appearance the first weekend only.
Wisconsin
