Renaissance Faire News - Sharing the Joy of Faire, one post at a time at FaireNews.com!!

The "Have You Met?" series introduces you to some of the people who make Faire a joy!

Looking back at January 12&13, 2008

The Kiwanis/Lee County Medieval Faire opened this past weekend, the first faire of the 2008 season. The street cast and performers interacted easily with the patrons; merchants provided a good variety of wares.

Patrons found the standard faire foods available and we were delighted to spot the The Rolling Galley. For those of you unfamiliar with Jodi’s operation, she provides fresh cooked rolls (eg. Greek, Three Cheese, Philly Steak), Scotch Eggs,  and our personal favorite of Fruit, Cheese, and Cracker plates. Chaucer’s Mead, beer, and wine were available at the pub while the adjoining Tavern Stage offered a place to sit and listen to different performers through the day.

Though the forecast was cloudy with possible rain, it ended up being only partly cloudy and windy, never raining. Lakes Park in Lee County is an open site with few trees for shade so the clouds were appreciated.

This faire will continue next weekend, giving you an opportunity to get out and share the Faire joy.
