North Carolina Renaissance Faire Masquerade Ball

Some of you may remember reading in the Faire Fun posts about all the rain they had at North Carolina Renaissance Faire this year. Five out of six days were extremely wet and, as a result, attendance was way down. NCRF is a non-profit event with proceeds used to produce the faire and for The Historical Enrichment Society’s year-round educational programs.

Due to lower than needed results from the Faire, the Faire will hold an emergency fund raising event that sounds like a lot of fun. A Midsummer Masque Ball will occur on August 2nd in downtown Raleigh featuring period music, dance, and entertainment with lots of interaction and even some dance lessons.

Fairy, Pirate, Lord, Lady, Wench, Rogue, Gypsy, Elf…everyone is invited to come out, play and have fun! Costuming is welcome, though optional, so this a great way to get some friends and family out who may not be as excited about being in costumes. Masks will be available for sale at the event (in case you don’t have one) but they are also optional.

Your ticket will include entertainment, hors doeuvres, raffle ticket, unlimited non-alcoholic beverages and there are levels for the alcoholic beverages. Advance reservations only! No ticket sales at the door.

They’re using a three level method to determine ticket price, based on the number of Alcoholic beverages (Mead and Beer) you would like to purchase $25 (one), $30 (two) and $35 (three). Alcoholic beverages can not purchased seperately on night of event. I’ve left a message requesting clarification on cost for tickets when no alcohol is desired. I’m guessing $25 but won’t make that assumption.

This is a private party. You do not need to be 21 to attend. In fact, young teens and older kids are more than welcome to attend early in the evening. Everyone will be carded before being served any alcoholic beverages.

    Hi!

Thanks for covering our event. You are correct. $25 is for unlimited non-alcoholic drinks.
