Looking Forward to February 14-22, 2008
OK, I’m cheating again, starting this week a couple of days early. But I wouldn’t want anyone to miss the opportunity to get in garb for Valentine’s Day.
February 14-16
The Pennsylvania Renaissance Festival grounds in Manheim, Pennsylvania, will be the location of “Wine, Dine, and Séance” February 14-16, a romantic dining experience, with tableside interaction, a séance, fortunetelling and sumptuous four-course dinner complimented by Mount Hope’s Wines, the Swashbuckler Brew Pub’s Beers and sweet, savory desserts. Victorian period costumes encouraged but not required. The event is scheduled for several weekend so, if this is too short a notice, check out the other dates.
February 16
Tennessee Renaissance Festival is holding a Cast Member open call at Freeman Photography Studios across from the Faire site in Triune-Arrington, Tennessee.
February 16 & 17
Fisher’s Renaissance Festival in Fishers, Indiana, will have an host an information session for any interested in participating in the faire as volunteer costumed cast, madrigal singers and non costumed volunteers.
The Virginia Renaissance Faire will hold auditions for guild members, musicians, and a variety of street characters in Fredericksburg, Virginia. There is also information on that page for those interested in providing Brass and Drum Fanfare and to squire at the joust.
February 16-18
Arizona Renaissance Festival will celebrate Fiesta Renaissance with a three day event for President’s Day. There’s also a major gathering of RenaissanceFestival.com members there this weekend. If you see the R/F shield pins, say “Hi!” for me, they’re a really friendly group.
The Florida Renaissance Festival will be open all three days of the President’s Day weekend. If you spy a family in burgundy and grey on Saturday afternoon, it’ll be the Faire News crew though we’ll be off-duty for the most part, taking the babes for their first visit in garb. Don’t know for sure which shows we’ll see but I hope to make it to Fushu Diako and WyldFyre at least.
