Kentucky Higland RenFaire is Calling all Clans – Nov 1 & 2, 2008

The hoped for Highland Games won’t be happening at the KyRF grounds outside Eminence this weekend, just too many things to work out with the sanctioning committee and not enough time to get it all done. But that’s not going to keep them from having a good time out there. Here’s part of what they said in the announcement:
“CALLING ALL THE CLANS”
…[W]e have decided to call out the Clans and have “CLAN CHALLENGE 08” on Saturday November 1st from 10a.m. till the fire goes out. This will be an opportunity for the clans and friends to gather for great challenge games between each other. These will include a clan haggis toss (corn hole) tournament, tug of war, reiver games, a few vendors, and what ever challenge one clan makes to another. We will have a GUY FAWKES bonfire in the evening with some musical entertainment. The pub will be open all day with some light food and a warm meal in the evening.Clan members, family, and friends should bring a lawn chair and attend this fun filled event. Admission will be $4 to the public and $2 for clan members with a membership card.
Sounds like a good excuse for a get-together to me. If you’re close, get out there and celebrate Fall with a gathering of like-minded folks. Be sure to stick around for the bonfire where they’ll be giving away 3 sets of tickets to the Dropkick Murphys’ show in Louisville on Nov 22nd.
