Bounding Main will be entertaining at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany on August 13, 2008. The LRMC is the American military hospital where some of the most severely wounded members of our armed forces are sent for medical attention and rehabilitation. As part of our visit we created a project called Operation Share the Shanties, which is to provide a special “Best of Bounding Main” CD to the soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen being cared for at the facility. We have several generous sponsors of this project, including Northern Wings Repair, Inc., ROM Squared, Inc., Transcendent LLC, The ADS Group and of course all of you who have sponsored the gift of a Personalized Message CD to one of the wounded that we’ll be visiting. We are honored be able to perform for these men and women who are the kinds of heroes we can only sing about. If you want to sponsor a CD to one of our wounded military members please contact Gunner Maggie at maggiehannington@hotmail.com for more information, or see us at one of our shows before August. More information on the Medical Center can be found on the official US Army web site: http://www.landstuhl.healthcare.hqusareur.army.mil/.

Bounding Main will be entertaining airmen and their families at the American Air Force facility at Spangdahlem on August 14, 2008. Located near the small German town of Spangdahlem, with larger cities nearby including Bitburg and Trier, Spangdahlem Air Base consists of the main base and the Bitburg Annex, located approximately 20 minutes from the main base. The 52nd Fighter Wing — the base’s host wing — is involved in numerous deployments around the globe, and its members are always prepared to project superior combat power, following the motto: “SEEK ATTACK DESTROY.” The base supports a number of personnel and their families and is an American enclave deep within the heart of Germany. More information on Spangdahlem Air Base can be found at the official US Air Force web site: http://www.spangdahlem.af.mil/.

If you get a chance to see Bounding Main this weekend, wish them Safe Journeys and send hugs and thanks to our troops.
